NEW DELHI, India (26th FIBA Asia Championship): India defeated Sri Lanka 89-35 in the final of SAARC Division qualifiers of the Middle Asia qualifiers for the 26th FIBA Asia Championship on Friday and confirmed their ticket to FIBA Asia’s prestigious event.

India will thus join winners of the 3rd FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup Lebanon, East Asia Champions Korea and SEABA’s Malaysia in Group A of the Preliminary Round of the 26th FIBA Asia Championship to be played at Wuhan (China) from Sept 15-25.

Earlier, Nepal beat Bangladesh 73-62 in the play-off for the third place.
